Qin Li, contact: qin_li@outlook.de

Hosting

This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Dublin, Ireland), acting as a processor on my behalf, in an EU region. To deliver the pages and keep the service secure, the servers necessarily process technical data of each request, such as your IP address, the time and the requested address. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in running the website securely).

Simple counts (always, no consent needed)

I count how often a note is opened, how often its PDF is downloaded, how often the LinkedIn button is clicked, and how often the link from my LinkedIn posts is used. For each count only the note, the kind of event and the date are kept. Your IP address is not used or stored for this, nothing is stored on your device, and you are not recognised again later. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my interest in knowing whether the notes are useful).

Detailed statistics (only with your consent)

If you click “Accept” in the banner, this page loads Microsoft Azure Application Insights (data stored in the EU) to record page views, approximate location (country, region, city), device and browser type and time on the page. It sets the cookies ai_user and ai_session to tell visits apart. Microsoft uses your IP address only briefly to look up the approximate location and does not store it. The data is kept for 90 days. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with “Privacy settings” at the bottom of the notes page; this does not affect anything collected before. Your choice (accept or reject) is remembered in your browser's local storage so the banner does not appear on every visit; this is necessary for the banner to work.

Links to other websites

The LinkedIn button and the Microsoft Learn links in the notes are ordinary links. Nothing is sent to LinkedIn or Microsoft Learn unless you click them; after that, their own privacy policies apply. This website loads no fonts, scripts or images from other websites.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority. For any question, write to qin_li@outlook.de.
